Christian Herzig was born in Bad Salzungen in 1975.
Herzig studied from 2002 to 2009 at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. From 2005 he attended the specialist class of Prof. Neo Rauch.
The Leipzig painter draws his inspiration from nature and the great masters of recent art history. He transforms these impressions into colour-sensitive compositions, some of which are removed from context and object and assert their very own reality.
The painter's works have already been shown several times in exhibitions at renowned galleries in Frankfurt a. M., Halle, Leipzig, Budapest and Hamburg. The artist lives and works in Leipzig. 67513949
