Charles Schneider (1881-1953) - Art Deco Bowl with star-shaped decoration. The brown-grey glass is partly clear and partly etched. The dish stands on a base of dark brown glass and is marked 'SCHNEIDER'. Dimensions: 24 cm diameter and 9.5 cm high. Condition: fair to good. Small scratch in the center of the bowl. Two small spots along the edge (2-10mm). Furthermore, some light sliding scratches on the bottom of the stand. Please take a good look at the photos to avoid any disappointments.
The Frenchman Charles Schneider (1881-1953) became a pioneer with his shapes, colours, expressiveness and techniques after the First World War. The decoration on the designs was still inspired by Art Nouveau, but the style and color heralded a new era: that of Art Deco.
