10 volumes, contemporary binding, half-calf with corners
Collection of 4 years of the Journal Le cabinet de lecture, including issues 96 to 377 (February 1831 to December 1834) as well as issues 1 to 72 (January 1835 to December 1835) of Le voleur, a review which would count Balzac among its contributors. These two publications devoted to current affairs and literary serials merged in 1842.
Some issues of the Cabinet de lecture are illustrated with engraved plates inset or feature caricatures or fashion illustrations published simultaneously in Le Petit Courrier des Dames.
On the endpapers are some handwritten copies of press articles as well as some press clippings.
