Pair of Art Deco open nightstands in walnut veneer and black opaline top. Restored and finished with shellac.
The bedside tables feature a black opaline top set into a wooden base which is curved at the corners
Under the top there is a drawer for storing objects with a graceful Bakelite and bronze handle and an open shelf.
The door, like the rest of the bedside tables, is veneered in various precious essences, inside there is a large compartment for storing objects. The door has inlays in different essences. The Uprights are curved alongside a circle.
The sides are veneered in briar
Present bronze and bakelite handles typical of the period.
It rests on 4 ebonized spiked feet with bronze terminal.
The bedside tables have been restored and are in good condition but show small signs of aging and wear. The possible presence of some woodworm holes (which we have not noticed) are an oversight during the restoration and does not mean an infestation but rather the originality of the object which has been treated with permethrin (insecticide). All conditions described are highlighted in the photo, the bronze terminal of a foot is missing (behind).
