Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Innovative and well made this sculpture of Venus set in a red aluminum plate scratched with black, easy to hang on the wall thanks to the practical hook on the back this work with a contemporary character can also be placed outdoors thanks to the quality of the materials used .
It is part of the "The new era of matriarchy" collection, the authors are aimed at all women who have bigger dreams than the opportunities that life offers them, it is made with environmentally friendly mortar and rice husks. The series is limited with only twenty numbered pieces where each single work is a unique piece in terms of pigments and colour.
The sculpture, fruit of the 4-handed synergy of Francioni and Mastromarino, an art couple and a love couple, is made following the traditional technique from the clay model to the negative mould; it is not 3d printed with a machine and for this reason, in addition to the artistic value, there is a processing cost that does not allow us to accept offers lower than the already deliberately very low reserve price.
The chosen materials minimize the polluting percentage as well as the choice of wood shavings as a filler for shipping, the very sturdy box is carefully packed and shipped by express courier included in the cost.
Eleonora Francioni and Antonio Mastromarino have been working in their art studio in Pietrasanta in Tuscany for about 20 years. In recent years their artistic production has focused on the female figure and on the search for eco-sustainable and recycled materials as industrial production waste.
The last 3 set photos are inserted for explanatory purposes and do not represent the work of this lot which is n. 7/20 of the first series.
The works of Francioni and Mastromarino are present in private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Portugal, Denmark, Austria, the U.S.A. and Italy.
Their studio is in Pietrasanta (Lu) in Italy. 67138407
