The TGV Thalys PBKA is a type of high-speed train from the TGV family that has been in service since 1996 on the lines of the Thalys network between Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam (PBKA).
Technically, the couples are almost identical to the PBA couples. The PBKA sets have the protection systems for the German railway network and, unlike the PBA sets, are suitable for running under 15kV 16.7 Hz overhead line voltage, allowing them to serve on the connection between Paris and Cologne. The two types differ in appearance in that the PBA sets have an old head and the PBKA sets a new head.
Train sets PBA and PBKA can be coupled with each other.
