Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Bart Peizel was not an experimental painter or great innovator, but made a name for himself as a modest impressionist. He painted landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits, which mainly testify to a great sensitivity to colour. He also drew and painted during study trips through France and Algeria. Peizel was the husband of the Amsterdam painter Thérèse Ansingh.
