Introduction José Soler:

Explanation of the work:

As we all know about metal, steel is one of the hardest and most resistant materials that we have, as a master of steel, I am used to feeling its hardness and strength and seeing that strength represented in metal sculptures, for this reason now I want to do quite the opposite, something even more complicated, which is to endow sensitivity and deceive the viewer by showing a sculpture made of hard and resistant steel but that looks like silk, that looks like a sensitive and elegant piece, simple and delicate but at the same time visually powerful.

They are stainless steel pieces finished in reliefs and with meticulous attention paid to every detail. With them I look for a more relaxed elegance and the balance between discreet charm and the desire to produce an aesthetic impact by creating a trompe l'oeil in the viewer.

They are pieces forged by hand, with great care, in an idyllic setting, in full connection with steel and art. They are born with the sound of each studied hammer blow, of strength and delicacy, and from there flow the notes of their apparently wrinkled and open movements.

I am seduced by artisanal and groundbreaking designs, so with these vertical and wall sculptures, I focus on being part of a new reality, where I look for color, texture and sinuous shapes. Who would say that it is steel? These sculptures, with their magically wrinkled appearance, make me venerate this primitive material, since it makes everything possible, without limits to creation or creativity. Even steel can seem light as silk.

The piece creates a game of mirror effect that makes it play with light and that reflection and its shapes make spectacular games of light and shadow.
