Jan Ouwenbroek was born on July 7, 1927 in Maassluis. At the age of twelve he received his first drawing and painting lessons from the ladies Van der Doll and later from Johann Oberreiter at the Gemeentelijke Nijverheids Evening School. Here he developed into a valued painter with a passion that would last a lifetime. In the past he often went to France, where he fell in love with the facades of old houses, which he then drew or painted. In recent years he has concentrated mainly on abstract works and painting on matter. At the time, he was awarded the Maassluis Cultural Prize for his contribution to culture in Maassluis.

Purchased in 1986 during an exhibition in the Gemeente-Museum in Maassluis for fl.400.

Inner size passe-partout: 31.7 x 37.7 cm. Passe-partout is discoloured, as is the white metal frame. 67406673
