New edition illustrated with drawings by Férat, engraved by Barbant. The original of this work by Jules Verne appeared in a cardboard box with two elephants.

Clean cardboard, insolated spine, tarnished gilding. Micro scuffs on the lower part of the first cover with alteration of the decoration (see photo). Slightly out of order notebooks. The blue paper of the endpaper split on approximately 10 cm at the level of the first hinge. On the half-title handwritten ex-libris dated 1902?. Some foxing.

Michel Strogoff is a historical adventure novel recounting the journey of its eponymous character, courier of the Tsar of Russia Alexander II, from Moscow to Irkutsk, capital of eastern Siberia. His mission is to warn the tsar's brother, who has had no news from Moscow, of the arrival of the Tartar hordes led by the traitor Ivan Ogareff to invade Siberia.
