Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. An 18th century box made during the Dutch Louis XVI period around 1775-1795. The tea box is made of Oak wood and glued with veneer of (Bahia) Rosewood, edges and piping of Buxus & Ebony and details of Padauk. The box has a refined cast brass handle on the lid with flower rosettes as back plates. The box still bears the original brass hinges, the lock does not function and the lock eye was once replaced for an item "out of time". A few old, well-executed and unobtrusive restorations have been carried out on the veneer & piping. The entire box has beautiful warm contrasting colors and a beautiful silky gloss!

This object will be well packaged and shipped with insurance! 67499881
