Radio Londres is the name given to French-language programs during the Second World War, broadcast from June 19, 1940 to October 25, 1944.
Breaking with the emphatic style of French radio, young columnists infuse, with the program Les Français parle aux Français, a new tone on the air and invent local radio with personal messages, sketches, songs, jokes and diverted advertisements .
A “war of the radios” then opened between the “resistance radio”, Radio London, and the “totalitarian radios”, pro-Nazi Radio-Paris and Petainist Radio Vichy.
The Germans tried to ban its listening by jamming it, confiscating the stations and heavily punishing the listeners.

Jean-Louis Crémieux is a senior civil servant, former resistant and French historian of the Second World War.
From 1931, he spent his holidays in Germany, where he witnessed the rise of Nazism. From 1935 to 1938, he was the youngest member of the Vigilance Committee of Antifascist Intellectuals.
He enlisted in the Free French Forces on September 9, 1941 under the pseudonym of Brilhac.
He is, at the Liberation, the co-founder of the French Documentation, and becomes the deputy director, then the director.
