A beautiful and large work of art by the Dutch artist Frits Maris (1873-1935). Late flowering Hague School. With a beautiful authentic oak frame. Signed lower right. The canvas size is: 103 cm. x 58cm. The condition is very good. The artwork can be viewed at Kunsthandel Martins in Wolvega and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Biography:
Frits Maris (1873 The Hague - Voorburg 1935) is a cousin of the great Marissen. He was taught at the academy in The Hague and then by Willem Maris and Jan Toorop. Frits Maris became interested in pointillism through Jan Toorop. His landscapes, figures and cityscapes are usually clear and have a special colour. Frits Maris mainly painted many flower and fruit still lifes. Source: Shin.
