Selling here is a nice example of Ferdinand Bac's, 'Les Maîtresses'. Limited edition, this being number 9 on Japon. Rebound, but with the original wraps bound in.

First edition. The first edition of this collected illustrations of women by Ferdinand Bac in various tones. Ferdinand Bac was a French illustrator, son of an illegitimate nephew of the Emperor Napoleon, known for his caricatures for popular Parisian journals of the time. The present volume is a collection of one-hundred drawings of women in various tones. With a preface by Felicien Champsaur.

Condition: The binding has wear and light edge loss, bumping to head/tail and all four corners. Contents: In good order, occasional light spotting, toning and with the odd mark. A nice example overall. Please see our images for further description.
