Rare and beautiful Art Nouveau cookie jar with handle made of lithyalin style glass - in the style of Egermann/Loetz/Rindskopf. Lithyalin glass resembles semi-precious stone, a glass-making process invented by Friedrich Egermann and long kept secret. Eventually more glassmakers came to master the process and around the turn of the century a type of glass was manufactured that had the characteristics of the Egermann lithyalin glass.
The cookie jar is in beautiful condition, with handle and lid with wooden knob that was once black. The glass has a very beautiful color, deep purple and resembles semi-precious stone. The glass is cool. (has one burst air bubble)
