Bronze Sculpture - Moses - Michelangelo

Superb bronze sculpture, the Moses by Michelangelo Buonarroti preserved in the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.
The original marble dates back to about 1513-1515, retouched in 1542, is 235cm high, and is part of the complex created for the tomb of Pope Julius II.
This piece made in Bronze can be dated approximately to the mid-1900s and is a copy of the first draft of the artist's work for the study of proportions and features (it shows both the initials on the back and the name written on the platform)
Perhaps considered one of Michelangelo's most expressive and realistic works, it is said that he himself, after finishing the work, hit the statue on the knee with the hammer, exclaiming "why don't you speak?"
