Watercolor Menu Project entitled Le Gland et La Citrouille after La Fontaine's Fable. Bears the stamp of the engraver Stern. It is probably a watercolor project by Jan Lis (?), intended for the engraver Moïse Stern for the printing of a menu inspired by La Fontaine's Fable at the end of the 19th century. The Stern house was a prestigious family engraving business, started in the middle of the 19th century and ending at the beginning of the 21st century: it counted Lenin, Stalin and de Gaulle among its customers...
Note a small snag / tear at the top. Sold framed with a small wand. 67233145
