"Dick de Lonlay (1846-1893) is the pseudonym of Georges Hardouin, born in Saint-Malo in 1846. An adventurous spirit, he participated in various military campaigns of which he brought back drawings: the war between Russia and Turkey, the conquest of Tunisia. He is the author of many war stories that he illustrates himself; he was also editor-in-chief of the newspaper Le Drapeau, from 1889 to 1893.

Very nice copy, solid binding, the percaline has minor usage defects. The gold and black plate on the first dish is bright. Neat printing on good quality white paper, scattered foxing, good readability.
