The design of these two wonderful Thonet-style chairs dates back to the first half of the twentieth century and was conceived to respond to specific functional needs. The two model 18 chairs proposed here date back to the beginning of its production and are still in excellent condition.
The curved element that also enriches the central part of the backrest adds comfort to the seat, available in different variants and at the same time determines its unmistakable profile. The backrest and rear legs take shape from a single piece of steam-bent beech wood.
Overall in good condition, normal signs of age (see photos). Recently restored with anti-woodworm treatment and wax for wood nourishment. Still has the original black paint.
Present steam brand and “Wackerlin&C” label, a company that produces furnishing elements on commission for Thonet.
