Very rare, of this fundamental work on the rotation of polarized light, a major contribution to optics, the author's preferred field of research and in which he did his most important work.
Bound in paper covered boards. Binding heavily worn, with loss to edges and corners. Spine lacking. Contents: General toning, browning and with some spotting - heavier in parts. Otherwise in good order. Plates in nice condition for the age. A decent example of a scarce book. Page edges rough. Please see our images for further description.
