A superb and very rare 18th-century folk art sculpture of the Virgin Mary standing on a globe and a crescent moon at her feet, her hands folded in prayer, representing the Immaculate conception. (For comparable iconography see the last photo with Tiepolo's Immaculate Conception - Prado, Spain).
It is very rare to find folk art carvings of this subject and age. The careful carving and the details lend this piece exceptional charm and uniqueness.

20,5 cm high (base included)

Overall fairly good condition considering age with losses throughout but with the original polychromy preserved. The base is most likely a later addition from the 19th century 66140901
