Milanese by origin and by vocation, Paolo Canetti was born in 1940 into a family of painters and from the first years of his life he cultivated this aptitude by attending art schools and following in his father's footsteps. The first solo exhibition in Milan dates back to 1968, arriving in a few years to exhibit in prestigious international galleries, from France to Japan and America. Already in the early years, the predilection for certain subjects, houses and landscapes, warm colors and luxuriant nature is revealed. A painting that makes you meditate, internalized but social. The mature Canetti assumes a formal and chromatic progress, without letting himself be involved by the exasperated virtuosity of his other young colleagues. A serene nature that identifies with the disappointment of the humblest men, increasingly attentive to formal research and prospective results. After a long Cubist period, he returns somewhat to what was his original stylistic, in scenes of underlying attention, with illustrations of social life. In the current Canetti, one feels and perceives the rejection of the culture of the negative. The painting is dated 1966, measures 50x70 and is painted on canvas.
