This painting is painted on canvas, which has been pre-treated with Gesso, after which a first layer of off-white mixed oil paint, and then my painting proposal (see sketches) has been applied to it. It was created by 2 aspects, firstly I visited France in the town of Chinon, if you walk up there, you get a beautiful view over the roofs of the town. (see photo), secondly, at the academy I was commissioned to make a painting with the theme "minimalism", and this seemed to me a good example to study the roofs, whether something could be done with this. In the photo and sketch material you can see how I came to this work. I scored well with this and in my opinion it has become an exciting whole. 67369471
