First edition of Hermans' debut novel !
In good condition - slight damage due to removed label on the cover top left - two stamps from former owner
2/ W.F. Hermans, Mandarins on sulfuric acid No I, The conscience of the Green Amsterdammer or Follow the track up, G.A. Van Oorschot, Amsterdam, 1955, 32 pages, softcover, 20.50 x 13 cm
First edition of the first of the two Mandarin publications that were still published as a brochure by Van Oorschot.
In fair condition: light rust spots on the cover
3/ Adriaan Morriën, The chamber of horrors by W.F. Hermans or I must always be right, De busy bee, Amsterdam, 1955 (?), first edition, 45 pp., softcover, 20.50 x 12 cm
Morriën's polemical pamphlet after Hermans started publishing 'de Mandarijnen' remained a one-off edition.
