Luis Dubón Portolés (Valencia 1892 - 1953) was a Valencian painter, illustrator, cartoonist and fallero artist. Born in the Valencian neighborhood of Benicalap, he studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts and as a painter, he obtained the silver medal in the Regional Exhibition in 1909.
In 1922 he moved to Madrid, when he was hired as artistic director. In 1932 he returned to Valencia, where for a few years he had been publishing the comic strip Fábulas Ilustradas in the Los Chicos supplement. During the Civil War he made republican propaganda posters, to highlight a famous poster for the Esquerra Valenciana party with an Allegory of the Republic dressed as a fallera and a large star, a work known as "the Dubón poster".
