5 volumes in-12°, frontispiece by Moreau, 2 ff. XCVI-379 pp., 19 plates H.T./ 2 ff., 488 pp., 2ff., 20 plates H.T./ III-511 pp., 19 pl. H.T./ 2 ff., 535 pp., 14 pl. H.T./ VI pp., 1 f., 592 pp., 24 pl. H.T. That is 96 inset folding plates in total, engraved by Moreau, Brunet, Gobin and Dheulland.

Full contemporary marbled calfskin binding, decorated ribbed spine, title and volume numbers, red edges (very slight damage to a crown), otherwise in perfect condition. Rare to find this book in such good condition. No foxing. Complete

Famous work by Abbé Nollet, who contributed to spreading the taste for the study of the phenomena of experimental physics. This copy contains 17 lessons in 5 volumes. Six years later, in 1764, Abbé Nollet published a sixth volume of lessons. The first two volumes of our copy are in the fourth edition, volumes 3 and 4 in the third edition, and the last in the second edition. 67281359
