The elegant map of Abruzzo is taken from the "Atlas Major", a work in twelve volumes, one of which is dedicated to Italy, published in Amsterdam in 1662-1672 by Johannes Blaeu.

The table shows the whole of Abruzzo with part of the countryside of Rome and Molise; with . top right, an elaborate cartouche with the title in the center and animated with knights and noble coats of arms and, bottom left, the distance scale.

Copper engraving on laid paper with coeval coloring with clear impression without defects, wide margins and verso in French; diffuse browning accentuated at the edges and central editorial crease.
