Am I A Business?

Visitors buying or selling in the course of business require business membership to advertise on Preloved.

We define a business as anyone that provides a service or sells items for profit.

As a guide, the following advertisers will require business membership:

• Advertisers buying items to then sell online
• Advertisers making items to sell at a profit
• Advertisers selling items for others on commission
• Advertisers providing a service
• Advertisers offering employment
• Advertisers offering business opportunities
• Advertisers selling items that can be reproduced and distributed electronically (software, eBooks etc.)
• Advertisers promoting a web site (even if not profit making)

We do however allow the following exceptions at our discretion (note that these may still be regarded as a business by the relevant tax authorities):

• Services which are completely free (and do not charge expenses, and is not a promotion for other paid services)
• Advertisers selling a single property
• Advertisers renting a single property
• Advertisers offering a single holiday property to rent
• Advertisers selling a single litter of animals at one time and no more than 5 litters per year
• Advertisers offering stud services of a single animal
• Bands seeking musicians

Preloved reserves the right to decide whether an advertiser does indeed require business membership, for example where they have multiple adverts in one category.
