#PrelovedHour: Time to get Preloving!

Last Sunday we held our first ever Preloved Hour over on Preloved Twitter: an opportunity for members, small business and aspiring restorers to chat about all things upcycled, preloved and restored! A huge thank you to all those of you that joined in…there were some blooming fabulous ideas shared. So much so, in fact, that we just had to share them with you. So here they are, our top 10 upcycled creations from the incredible #PrelovedHour.

1. Pink Friday

Our lovely friends over at the reworks are always discovering new and exciting ways to embellish old and tired furniture and this gorgeous vintage oak table, covered in French Chic paint, is no exception to the rule. It’s making us happy just looking at it, eep!

2. Time is of the essence

Handcrafted in his workshop, or bedroom rather, Paul delights in creating unique and individual clocks from original vintage Nixie Tubes. The above examples are no exception to the high standard of exceptional pieces that Bad Dog Designs consistently produce.

3. Skip to malou

Originally found in a skip, Courtyard Creations showcased this incredible transformed rocking chair. AND the cushion was made with just a little bit of material they had ‘lying around.’ Now that’s preloving.

4. And far away…

Wonderful Preloved members Over 2 Hills showcased a preview of their newest pieces (including their signature cowboy hat – which found in their office), all of which have been beautifully hand finished.

5.Go directly to jail

Just kidding…but these upcycled monopoly earrings reminded us of those times trying to roll a double while our pals raced around the board. *shudders*

6. Crochet me happy

The wonderful Vicky from Vicky Myers Creations showcased her newly acquired crocheting skills at this weeks Preloved hour! We look forward to seeing more of her incredible crocheting skills.

7. Sleigh Bells Ring

Having made this by fixing a wooden bowl on to an old wooden candlestick holder, the lovely Helen from Helen’s Retro Home now plans to use this as a bauble holder at Christmas. Oooo we’re feeling all festive (yes, we know, it’s September).

8. Give us a glass!

Although DoodleDash showed a distinct love of bright colours during the hour, we happened to find this Moet and Chandon occasional table a stand out piece! Although it has made us want a glass of the old champers.

9. Eyes on the prize

Magpie Laura certainly spotted a precious metal in these gorgeous chairs. We particularly like the coral chair! Keep up the good work Laura (and keep us up to date with your other projects).

10. Run Rabbit, Run!

Last but not least, we have this wonderful wire sculpture from the gorgeous Nicolette Trapp! He looks like he wants a wee dance partner.
