The author, Edric Worsnop, served in the Diplomatic Service from 1951 to 1990 in a range of countries at an interesting time in their histories. He studied Arabic in the Lebanon, and then served in many Middle Eastern countries including Egypt, Cyprus, Iran, Abu Dhabi, the Trucial States (now the UAE), as well as Sumatra, Morocco and Australia. Includes a bibliography and index.
This copy was formerly owned by Sir James Craig (1924–2017), a British diplomat who was ambassador to Syria and Saudi Arabia, and also an academic and writer.
The Author has written a gift inscription to him on the title page: 'To James and Bernadette with very best wishes. 1 July 2007. Edric'.
Complete with dust jacket, in very good clean condition throughout. Fresh and clean with a firm binding.
