Preloved Advent Charity Spotlight Week 3: Barnardos

While we’re enjoying the excitement and the Preloved advent calendar, Preloved knows it’s important to think of those less fortunate at this time of year. So, as always, we’re going to be supporting a number of charities throughout the month to encourage our members to give back during December.

So, we’re featuring one charity a week to ask you to consider donating on behalf of a friend or family member as a gift this year, instead of splashing out on gifts.

This week is Barnardos and their Believe in Me campaign

Barnardos 'Believe in Me'

Barnardos helped 301, 100 children, young people, parents and carers in 2017-18. Their Believe in Me campaign shows just some of those that they've helped and how believing in children can transform lives. But, there are many other young people who need their help.

You can hear more about these stories over on their Believe in Me page.

Barnardo’s exists solely to protect and support the UK’s most vulnerable young people. They help bring out the best in them – no matter who they are or what they have been through.

They do this by providing services across the country that specialise in areas such as helping young carers, protecting against child abuse and supporting young people leaving care.

How you can help

Christmas can be the hardest time of the year for many children in the UK

Thousands of young people endure hardships and pressures no child should ever face, including sexual exploitation, caring for caring for a loved one, or domestic abuse.

The harsh reality is that these children are vulnerable 365 days a year, 24 hours a day - and Christmas is no exception.

You can help this festive period and donate here. Why not donate in someone's name as a gift this year?
