Females are huge and Lime Green, they develop a shovel like structure at their rear end as they grow which are used to flick the eggs away from their territory. Males are slim, brown and have wings, they use the wings to startle predators and have been known to flutter occasionally ! Females live longer than the males, probably 12 months as opposed to 9, females reach around 15cm not counting antennae so you need a big well ventilated enclosure. Nymphs are from breeding group so should be a mix of sex.
The nymphs do need Eucalyptus Gunni as a food plant , I do keep them in smaller enclosures when young as the supply of EG is not always plentiful. I use florist foam to keep the vegetation fresher longer. Vegetation should be lightly sprayed for their moisture/drinking needs. As they grow they can be weaned onto bramble, although EG should also be offered, and can be kept with other species. Large well ventilated cages are needed as they grow to full size, especially when the females perform their final spectacular shed and they reveal the spines and vestigal wings.
Also usually in stock , Chocolate Log, Sunny, Sabah Thorny and Common Indian insects. please ask for availability and quotes on eggs and nymphs.
