Advert Description
Varanus tristis, aka black head monitors, aka racehorse goannas - a name they fully deserve as they are like lightning chasing food!!
These get a fair bit bigger than ackies tend to, with adults being in the 70-90cm range, and they are WAY more fun than ackies!
They have far higher prey drive and activity levels than ackies, they are also a lot faster and more agile, with huge amounts of stamina to chase food around on tongs full speed for extended periods - have some cool videos of the parents doing this that I can send.
Care is pretty similar to ackies, but they are great climbers and would make good use of some extra height.
I've kept quite a few species of monitors and tristis are one of my favourites and a strong contender for the best all rounder species, out of the small to medium sized monitors.
I have well started babies available, bred by myself.
