Advert Description

We're sadly downsizing our collection due to a change in circumstances. This is our 3 year old female Tegu called Rex. We called her rex (typical Tegu name!) she was sold to us as a boy, but they're almost 3 years old now and no signs of being a male - I'm sure you would see the joules by now so we're assuming female! She has a 8ft*2ft enclosure, it does her nicely BUT honestly she's going to need a 8*4 at some point in the near future, or at least an 8x3. She's managed to break the glass on it twice which has been fun, so for now half has plastic lid tubs screwed in, we've found this to be quite effective at keeping the humidity. She eats pretty much anything - her favourites are shellfish (expensive!) day old chicks, and rats. We give her a selection of veg too although if she has meat and veg she tends to leave the vegetables, so we mix it in with pork mince and make meatball's for her! She's quite happy coming out and exploring, but doesn't really want much to do with you when she is out - she'll wonder over and say hello, but won't just 'hangout' like some tegus do. I think when we got her she was already a year and a half old and hadn't been socialised much - she used to charge when you opened her enclosure but now she's quite happy with you going in and fiddling with things!
We would want £250 for her, and would include the enclosure for free due to it needing an upgrade at some point and also because of the broken glass.
Her enclosure needs dismantling to get it downstairs, so would need to view in advance to confirm if wanting to buy her. Happy to answer any questions. Check out our other listings as happy to do discounts on multi buys, or for entire collection.
