Advert Description

Bertie is back up for adoption through no fault of his own. He is a male bearded dragon with a traumatic history, and he requires a little time to warm up to new people and show his softer side. Approximately four years old and full of energy, Bertie would suit an experienced beardie keeper with plenty of time to dedicate to giving him an enriching life with lots to think about and keep his mind active.
He might seem like a grumpy guy at first, but underneath it all he really is a sweetheart.
We are seeking a five star forever home for Bertie, where he will be given access to everything he needs and deserves - he is an enthusiastic worm hunter, and particularly enjoys free hunting morio worms around the room as a treat. He is an intelligent boy, enjoys puzzles and treat toys as well as exploring during free roam time. He drinks his water from a bowl and enjoys his veggies and greens, particularly dandelions and coriander. He is prone to boredom if not entertained, and he needs mental stimulation and plenty of enrichment both within and outside his enclosure to prevent destructive behaviours and glass surfing - we would love to see him afforded a large vivarium with plenty of climbing opportunities for him to exhibit his natural behaviours.

We are happy to work with experienced exotic keepers and well researched beginners alike, and we provide a full care guide and ongoing support with every animal we rehome.
There is no fee for adoption through Odd Socks, however you must pass our vetting process which includes proof of adequate setup and a home check.

Preloved Safety Advice:

  • Important: Before responding to any pet ad, be sure to read our Pet Buying Checklist and download your copy for free.
  • Photos: Photos on ads can be misleading. Sellers may temporarily group animals in confined spaces, purely to get a photo. These images don't represent an animal's natural habitat. Always visit the pet in their current home so you can see their housing for yourself.
  • Research: Always learn everything you can about a species before contacting a seller. This will give you a better idea of what to expect when you go to visit a seller, what questions to ask, and what else you might need to buy.
  • Payments: Always use a safe payment method that offers you some protection, such as PayPal or Credit Card.
  • Reporting Concerns: If you've seen an ad on Preloved the breaches our welfare listing guidelines, you can click on 'Report Advert' just below the ad and we'll investigate your concerns.
