With so many fun and uplifting pupdates sent to us as part of our competition in May, it is hard not to want to share them all at once with our members and visitors! But alas we shall resist and share just one more with you for the moment.
This is the heart warming story of a little dog called Molly and how her companionship brings light into even the darkest of her owner’s days.

I have a truly wonderful story about my acquiring my best friend via Preloved!
Molly was advertised on here as a Staffordshire Terrier needing a new home around 5 years ago. Her family could no longer look after her and she was less than a year old. I contacted the seller and went to see her. I was looking for a companion for my other dog and I had been viewing adds on Preloved for quite some time to find a perfect friend!
She wasn’t quite a Staffordshire Terrier I expected! She had long rough hair and was very mixed up (in more ways than one!) but there was something about her and I took her home there and then.
She wasn’t house trained, she was a bit manic, but she had such an appealing character. The housetraining was easy – it only took a week. There were challenges of course but after a settling in period, she became less nervous and soon became part of the family. We love her fun cheeky character. All it took was patience, understanding, lots of walks, dog training/socialisation classes (where I learnt a lot too!) and LOVE! It has been so rewarding to see her develop into a happy little hound.
She has re-paid me thousand fold. Four years later my health deteriorated and I needed surgery on my spine – I now have limited mobility. Molly has kept me going, never judging, always happy to see me and at times she was my reason for getting up on a morning. If this Sounds dramatic…it’s because it is!
I cannot express how much my dogs have helped me. Molly has adapted to being walked by different people now that I cannot get out as much, but it’s still my most favourite pastime to be in the woods or on the beach with my Molly and we do it as often as we can. She also comes on breaks with us, her favourite spot is the Lake District!
It’s a big decision to take on any pet and I would advise people to make sure they have enough time and patience for a dog. Do plenty of research on the type of dog that will suit your family and lifestyle, some need more exercise than others! Get as much information from the seller as you can about temperament, likes, dislikes, food, walks, other animals, children etc…Dont let your heart run away with you – be practical. But most of all enjoy, love and cherish your Preloved pooch.
