Advert Description
I am selling my male GSD due to an unfortunate change in circumstances. He is a big lad at about 40kg. I am now living with my mum and he is too big for her to cope with. He quite often shoulder barges her out of the way. I don't want her getting knocked over again.
So, he is definitely not for an inexperienced owner. He is in the stroppy stage and lets you know about it quite loudly.
He walks on the lead well compared to when I first got him. When I am by myself with him, he is generally good. When I am with someone else he gets very excited and pulls in all directions, all at once.
He has the highest food drive I have ever seen in a dog. He will speed eat his food to the point where he chokes some up and continues to eat at full speed. He will do anything for food, which has made training him a little easier. The only way I’ve managed to slow him down is to put chunks of carrot in his food, which he really loves.
He dislikes going in a crate but is getting better and doesn't make as much of a fuss as he has previously.
It is really upsetting to get rid of him but we have reached the end of our abilities and time to train him. He would probably suit someone with a farm or a lot of spare time to train out his bad habits.
I have all of documentation from the previous owner, I think he has had all of the tests that the vets can do. He has been hip and knee scored, has pedigree lineage and family history.
