Afia is a lovely, friendly girl. She is good with people that she meets and visitors coming to the house. She's is an affectionate girl who loves attention and fuss and will greet you enthusiastically!
Afia is happy to visit the groomers and the vet. She is a healthy girl, up to date with her vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments. Happy to be brushed, bathed, groomed, and have her nails trimmed, ears cleaned, etc.
Afia is fully house and crate trained. She is also happy to be left home alone for a few hours and will stay in her crate.
Afia has done really well with her basic training. She's responds best to food reward. She knows several cue words such as Sit, Down, Come, Drop, Bed/ Place, Paw, Wait.
Afia only currently goes for a walk about twice a week, which is one of the main areas where it has not been possible to meet her needs. When she does go for a walk, she wears a harness and enjoys her walks but can be a little excited and pulls a bit on her lead. In a home where she will have more regular walks, this is likely to reduce as she had more opportunities to burn energy on a daily basis.
Afia has not had much contact with other dogs due to being an only dog and with walks being limited. She will be excited when she does see other dogs but did get a bit scared by the next-door dog once.
Afia loves all of her toys and enjoys playing. She eats well and enjoys a raw diet with natural treats. She travels well in the car and is not bothered by thunder, fireworks, and other loud noises.
Afia would really benefit from being part of an active family who could take her on lots of lovely walks and adventures to explore. She would make a lovely family dog.
