Step by Step | How to Create an Ad on Preloved
You don't have to be a tech-expert to create an ad on Preloved, in fact we're confident you could do it without our help! But, just in case, here is a step by step guide on how to create an ad, so if anything is a bit confusing, this will make it all a little clearer!
Remember, if you're ever having difficulty with anything Preloved-related, you can always get in touch and we'll be more than happy to answer your queries.
Step 1
After you have logged in, the first thing to do is get yourself to the sellers page by clicking SELL. There will then be an option for business or private ads. Select the one that is relevant to you. If you're not running a business, then private is the option for you!
Second step
This will then take you to the category page, where you can type and search for a category, browse through all 80 categories, or scroll through your favourite categories.
Choose a category based on what you would search for if you were looking for the item that you are intending to sell. You will then be asked to choose a subcategory - this is more specific to the actual item.
Third step
The next page is advert details. This is where you choose what kind of advert you’re posting, include a advert title and description, and add your photos. If you have free Preloved membership, you’ll be able to upload three photos completely free. If you’ve subscribed to Preloved Premium membership, you’ll be able to add as many photos as you like!
The kind of advert question is important, as this is one of the first things a buyer will consider. As a seller, you won't ever use the Wanted option, as this is designed for buyers who are searching for a particular item.
Fourth step
When it comes to your title and description, this has to be as persuasive as possible. Read our tips for sellers article to learn more about how to make the most of this section of your ad.
Fifth step
With details, try to be as specific as possible. Measure your item, if necessary, and be honest about the condition.
Sixth step
In the asking price section, you have a box where you enter the amount, and a drop down menu with extra details for the buyer. Make sure to mention these if they are important.
Seventh step
Click next. Your ad is complete!
