A Dog Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas
Thirty eight years on from the birth of its famous slogan “A dog is for life not just for Christmas®”, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, which has 20 rehoming centres across the UK and one in Ireland, is bracing itself for another busy Christmas.
Movember: Move for Men’s Health
The seed for Movember was planted in a bar, in Melbourne Australia back in 2003. Fast forward 13 years and there are official campaigns in 21 countries and the charity has funded over 1,200 men’s health projects around the world. Even if you can’t grow a moustache this month, here are some other ideas!
National Black Cat Day
In the UK, black dogs and cats take longer to be adopted. The reason? They are perceived to be less friendly. In 2015, the Cats Protection found found that black or black and white cats made up 45% of the more than 5,000 cats in their care across the UK.
