London Fashion Week – Spring Trends
Today marks the start of London Fashion Week! Amongst all of the gales, fashion heads are flocking to high-end fashion events and shows. I mean no pain no gain right? London is one of many fashion weeks that have been showcasing there A/W collection. So that begs the question of what do we wear come Spring?! Typically the fashion cycle shows these in the summer time around September for the following year. Which means we have plenty of inspiration for outfits, once this weather has shifted itself at least. London Fashion Week - Spring Trends.
Spring Trends
I personally love keeping up with trends, especially for those transitional seasons like Spring and Autumn. I mean lets be honest what do you wear when the weather can't make up it's mind. I can't even make up my mind on my outfits! The overall mood of 2022 trends was saying farewell to the desire to dress up even just to pop to the supermarket, and hello to easy, simple, luxurious clothes that can be flung on in a hurry. As it's now nearly been 2 year since the start of COVID-19 lockdown what we wear shows how much it impacts how we feel. The clear inspiration is that as life continues on it's path to normality are calendars are getting booked up and we need outfits to suit.
One thing that is now apparent through all the seasons is my new favourite mantra. 'The anything-goes mood of now', which is saying the old idea of in and out trends has been made redundant. This is the perfect time for us to have some fun with the our wardrobe. Start investing in your style. Making the trends suit you, not the other way round.
Bright Colours
Whether you are wearing them for yourself or to stay on trend. This is a staple to getting into the spring feeling. Remember you don't need to run before you can walk start with a pop of colour and go from there. Be that Kermit green or sunshine yellow, find what suits your complexion and go from there. Before you know it you'll find you only have colour in your wardrobe.
Statement Prints
Are we notice fashion just goes in a continual cycle, which is why it's no surprise that statement prints are back! This terrified me. Until I realised that they don't need to be the loud and colourful prints of the 80s. 2022 is more the muted and textured patterns, which I am ALL ABOUT!
Oversized Blazers
No this trend hasn't gone. Thank goodness! This is a suit all and every outfit staple. I love this look dressed up with a nice evening out and dressed down with joggers or jeans and trainers. With these oversized blazers you can ready for any occasion! Not to mention they are an easy second hand find. Get high-quality tailoring for less!
Preppy Style
Think dark academia fashion, with a splash of America varsity. For us Brits it's basically a face lift on our uniforms! Luckily, gone are the days of having to wear all the bright reds and blues that come with the America preppy style. This does mean that sweater vest are here to stay though, and that is something I can get behind for these spring trends. Not to mention to beautiful return of the Mary Jane shoes!
