Preloved at the Festival of Thrift
Over the weekend of the 26th and 27th of September, Preloved held a stall at The Festival of Thrift in Darlington, which had over 45,000 attendees! The festival picked up the Observer National Ethical Award in July 2015 for its focus upon creative sustainability, as well as its national reach and simultaneous engagement with the local community.
At the Preloved stall we had a variety of furniture which was kindly donated by our partnersProject UP and Over 2 Hills. We also held a competition at the stall to win an upcycling project! There were hundreds of entries, and our winner was Gemma Lockyer. Well done Gemma, we can’t wait to see your completed creation!
The lovely thrifters that came to see us were offered a special discounted membership code, which you can still redeem here.
We visited loads of arts and crafts stalls, saw beautiful upcycled furniture (that we had to resist the temptation to buy!), and even ate lunch in a restored campervan which was equip with bongos and African cuisine. We met so many wonderful people during the festival, including plenty of thrifty Remade in Britain retailers like Stu Art Aviation, Pure Pallets and Velo Culture!
A special #PrelovedHour was held in celebration of the festival, where plenty of you lovely Prelovers shared your creations and let us know what a wonderful weekend it was!
