How to Make Your Own Snow Man Sock
This year, instead of splashing out on wasteful expensive decorations this year, why not have a go at crafting some homemade Christmas decorations?
Through this year's Preloved advent calendar, we'll be sharing some quick and easy crafts you can have a crack at this year. Plus, they'll all be using recycled materials to help you reduce your waste double-time this Christmas!
we've got this super cute and easy snowman sock! Got some old socks lying around why not give it a go?
What you'll need:
- White sock
- String
- Uncooked Rice
- Red Felt
- Glue gun
- Black Buttons
Step 1
Firstly, (with an adult) take some scissors and cut the toe section off your clean white sock. Put this to the side to use later!
Step 2
Using some festive string then tie around the ankle section of the sock in a bow! This will be your snowman's bum.
Step 3
Next, fill your snowman a third of the way up with uncooked rice.
Step 4
Tie up the remaining open end with some festive string and then using your red felt create a scarf for your snowman by tieing this two-thirds of the way up his body.
Step 5
Using your glue gun stick on two black buttons to the upper section of your snowman to make the eyes and one orange button underneath for the mouth.
Step 6
To finish your snowman, using the previously cut off toe section place this around his head to make a hat. You can also use a little pom pom to glue to the top to make sure he is nice and warm!
And you're done, your very own snowman stock! Why not make a variety of designs and put together a little display? Quick and easy, and a great way of getting rid of some leftover waste at home!
