Pupdate: Snezana and Maya
Giving any pet a home can be a challenge, especially when it comes to training, but after lots of love, time and dedication, the unconditional love of a dog is the best reward you can receive. However, if you have pets already, you must always bear them in mind when adding a new pet to your family - this was especially evident for Snezana when she gave a young Alsatian cross a home.
Snezana and Maya Maya is a 9 month old white Alsatian cross. She has been with us 7 months and is the most affectionate, fun and characterful dog we could have ever wished for, simply brilliant. Maya is such a lovely natured and beautiful girl, who is fun to be with, loyal and just fantastic in every way.
snezana and maya in the kitchenIt is always a challenge giving any young dog a home - making sure the training is just right. We have cats and chickens and Maya has been challenging on that front as she is just too boisterous for them at times, and initially wanted nothing more than to catch everything in sight! However, it is all play and there isn't a nasty streak in her at all. The most rewarding part of giving Maya a home is the love and affection she has given us every single day - she is truly a lovely dog in every way.
If I was to give advice to anyone looking to give a dog a home, it would be to remember that it is hard work training a dog as you need to give them a lot of time, as well as love. They cannot be expected to just behave, and they need careful handling and training, as well as dedicated family members wanting to give the exercise that they need.
