London Summer Holiday Guide

Summer makes us all seem to have a real spring in our step. Wrong month, right phrase! But the point sticks, we all love soaking up the sun in these summer months! However, even with the warm weather we are all still scratching our head on what to do. Especially when you are more city based and can't just escape to a field or park like our rural folk. Which is why we want to share some ideas from our London's summer holiday guide. Meaning you can explore the summery side of London without breaking the bank!

Every day's A School Day

Don't worry not literally. Although I'm sure there are some days that you wish you could just send them back to school. What we are actually talking about is taking your kids to the incredible museums dotted around London. If you are looking for something engaging then be sure to take them to the interactive installation at the Tate Modern. Created by Yayoi Kusama, 'The Obliteration Room', it's sticker heaven for kids. You are all given a sheet of round stickers and instructed to put them everywhere and anywhere!

Check out the Brunel Museum to learn about the history of the Thames Tunnels. You will be taken through an immersive experience through the trail learning about the precious cargo that was transported below. Suitable for ages 7+.

The Show Must Go On

Regents Park Open Air Theatre is showing the beloved musical version of The Hundred and One Dalmatian, and where better than were Roger and Anita first fell in love; plus their pooches Pongo and Perdita. There are both matinee and evening performances, meaning you can pick from which suits you. Children over the age of 4 are welcome.

For a two week period you can relish in show like festivities at Greenwich and Docklands International Festival. With singing unicorns, fireworks, music, live art and much more! How could you say no to such an incredible day out. Family favourites are the island of foam, plus a shapeshifting installation and of course the musical 'There Should Be Unicorns', about a rebellious girl who want to change the world.

London's A Beach

With the temperatures soaring and London facing the brunt of it all urban beaches are a god sent. The Beach Brent Cross is as it sounds. Full of sand, splash pools and best of all a fair ground, with rides for adults and kids. Keep your eyes peeled on this one as there will be events throughout summer. Plus they have some of THE tastiest fish and chips to really make you feel like you're at the beach.
